Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use DeanInsurance.com — and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.
Effective date: June 27, 2026 • Operated by: Secure Systems, Inc
Please note how our service works. Dean Insurance is an insurance comparison and referral marketplace. When you request a quote, the information you submit is shared with third-party licensed insurance agents and carriers (“Insurance Partners”) and certain marketing partners so they can contact you and provide quotes. Submitting a request means you understand and agree to this sharing. You can opt out of certain sharing as described below.
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Secure Systems, Inc (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of DeanInsurance.com and related online services (the “Site”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you. It applies to information we collect through the Site and through your interactions with us. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide. When you request a quote, fill out a form, or otherwise interact with the Site, you may provide information such as your name; contact details (phone number, email address, mailing address); date of birth or age; ZIP code and location; and details relevant to the coverage you’re seeking — which, depending on the insurance line, may include information about your vehicle, home, household, employment or income, and, for health, Medicare, life, or disability products, certain health-related or other sensitive information. You choose what to provide, but some information is necessary to obtain quotes.
2.2 Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, the pages you view and links you click, referring and exit URLs, approximate location, and similar usage data, using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see Section 6). We may also use lead-verification technology that records information about your form submission (such as a timestamp and the consent you provided).
2.3 Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from data and marketing partners, public sources, and our Insurance Partners, and may combine it with the information described above.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: provide the Site and respond to your requests; match you with and connect you to Insurance Partners and generate quotes; communicate with you, including by phone, text, and email, about your inquiry and about insurance and related products and services (see Section 10); operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site; perform analytics and measure marketing; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share information in the following ways:
Insurance Partners. This is central to our service. When you submit a quote request, we share the information you provide with one or more third-party licensed insurance agents, brokers, and carriers so they can contact you and offer quotes. Those partners are independent of us, and their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services for us, such as hosting, data storage, analytics, marketing, communications (including calling, texting, and email platforms), and lead verification, under contracts that limit their use of the information.
Marketing partners. We may share information with marketing and advertising partners. Some of this sharing, and the use of advertising cookies, may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California and certain other state laws (see Sections 8 and 9), and you may opt out.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of Secure Systems, Inc, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Affiliates and with your consent. We may share information with our affiliates, and with other parties when you direct or consent to it.
5. We Do Not Sell Information of Known Minors
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals we know to be under 16 years of age. See Section 13 regarding children’s privacy.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our partners use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure performance, and deliver and measure advertising. Some of these technologies are provided by third parties (for example, analytics and advertising providers) that may collect information about your online activities over time and across sites. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through cookie-preference tools on the Site. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Site functions.
7. Your Choices
Marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing calls and texts (reply “STOP” to texts) and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails, or by contacting us. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you non-marketing messages about your inquiry.
Cookies and advertising. You can manage cookies via your browser and opt out of certain interest-based advertising through industry tools such as those offered by the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative.
Do Not Sell or Share. Depending on your state, you may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information as described in Sections 8 and 9, using the method at [DO NOT SELL/SHARE LINK OR METHOD] or by contacting us.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, provides you the following rights, subject to exceptions:
(a) the right to know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it; (b) the right to delete personal information we have collected from you; (c) the right to correct inaccurate personal information; (d) the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information; (e) the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; and (f) the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.
Categories collected. In the past 12 months, we may have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, address, email, phone, and IP address); customer records (such as contact and demographic details); commercial information; internet or network activity; geolocation data; sensitive personal information (which may include certain health-related information you provide for health, Medicare, life, or disability products); and inferences drawn from the above. We collect this information from the sources in Section 2 and use it for the purposes in Section 3.
Sale/sharing. As described in Section 4, we may “sell” or “share” identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet activity, and inferences to or with Insurance Partners and marketing/advertising partners. You may opt out using the method in Section 7.
Exercising your rights. Submit a request using the method at [DO NOT SELL/SHARE LINK OR METHOD], by emailing [PRIVACY EMAIL], or by calling [TOLL-FREE REQUESTS NUMBER]. We will verify your request and may ask for information to confirm your identity. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification. We honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC); see Section 15.
[ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED: Confirm the exact categories collected, sold, and shared, the categories of recipients, retention periods, and whether sensitive PI handling and any GLBA exemption apply, before publishing.]
9. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain other states (including, depending on current law, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others) may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 19. Where required, you may appeal a decision regarding your request by contacting us at [PRIVACY EMAIL].
10. Communications and TCPA
By submitting your information through the Site, you consent to be contacted as described in our Terms of Service, including by automated calls, prerecorded messages, text messages, and email, at the number(s) and address(es) you provide, for quotes and marketing. This consent is not a condition of purchase, and you may opt out at any time (see Section 7). Message and data rates may apply.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide our service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which we delete or de-identify it. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we maintain, including encryption in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping the information you provide accurate and for protecting any account credentials.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 for purposes of “sale” or “sharing”). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to or transfer you to third-party websites and services, including Insurance Partners. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party you interact with.
15. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, we do not currently respond to them. However, where required by law, we honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid request to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for the browser or device from which we receive the signal.
16. International Users
The Site is intended for users in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
17. Health-Related Information
Some insurance products available through the Site — such as health, Medicare, life, and disability coverage — may involve information related to your health. Secure Systems, Inc is not a HIPAA-covered entity, and information you submit through the Site is generally not protected health information under HIPAA. We treat health-related information you provide as sensitive and share it with Insurance Partners as needed to provide quotes and as described in this Policy. Where applicable state law gives you the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, you may exercise it as described in Section 8.
[ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED: Confirm HIPAA, GLBA, and state sensitive-data treatment for the specific data collected on the Health, Medicare, Life, and Disability flows.]
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
