Travel Medical Insurance

Foreign travel can be fun and exciting. From extreme sports to relaxing on a beach, there is nothing like exploring new travel destinations. But, your vacation can quickly become a frightening and extremely expensive ordeal if you or one of your family members becomes ill or injured while traveling abroad.

Not all traditional domestic health insurance plans are designed to provide adequate coverage for the unique circumstances that may arise while traveling abroad. Some Travel Medical Insurance benefits that may not be provided by your domestic health insurance include Emergency Evacuation, Emergency Reunion (cost of travel & expense to bring a relative or friend to travel with the insured during an emergency), Return of Mortal Remains, Political Evacuation, Return of Minor Children (if insured is hospitalized and traveling with minor children who would otherwise be unattended), sports and activities coverage, Terrorism Coverage, Identity Theft Assistance, Trip Interruption (due to death in immediate family or substantial destruction of insured's principal residence) and permanently Lost Luggage coverage. Additional Travelers Insurance riders may be purchased to provide coverage while participating in Leisure Sports such as jet skiing, Scuba Diving, wind surfing, wakeboarding, Snow Skiing and Snow Boarding.

Extreme Sports Coverage may also be added to your Patriot Travel Medical Insurance Policy to provide limited coverage while participating in such activities as skydiving, spelunking, BMX, bungee jumping, caving, canyoning, white water rafting (up to class V), heli-skiing, high diving and hot air ballooning. .
